Take absolute value before squaring. A cathedral burns.
Burning Ship — z = (|x| + i|y|)² + c — rendered in an ice-blue palette so the cathedral spires read as frozen rather than incandescent. The absolute-value step breaks Mandelbrot’s symmetry and produces a dense fleet of antenna structures.
